DAD'S SONG
(c) 11/93, Todd Silva

It's been a while since I've had the chance
To hear your words and the comfort they bring
There's so many feelings I'd like to share with you
What was your life like as a child
Did you ever think that you grew up too late
Often times I'm not sure if I'm where I should be

	Don't ask why, my child
	You've still got time
	Rest your mind, little child
	And dry your eyes

That's so easy for you to say
Your life is done, seems you did pretty well
I'm still trying to get it right and do it all
I wish we could have talked some more
Instead of always closing the door
Why didn't I take the time to open up to you

I think you're fine as you are
	Now please don't sigh
I'm so proud of you, my star
	And your light that shines

Did someone special ever pull you through
When you were scared and feeling all alone
Wish I'd been there more when you were there for me
But even though you're no longer around
Somehow I feel that you're here right now
I'd like nothing more than to touch you heart again

	Don't cry now, little one
	Your life has just begun
	Just remember this, my son
	I still love you
